On 9 March 2020, the Italian government imposed a national quarantine, restricting the movement of the population except for necessity, work, and health circumstances.
During this time, the students of ZeLIG School for Documentary were separated in their own homes, yet they were still attending online classes together.
During her online seminar, Marzia Mete proposed to tackle the whole situation with a different attitude. The idea was to turn these adverse times into a chance for our students to reflect and react to the events in a creative way, with an open cinematographic approach. "Remotely / Related" is the collection of the realised shorts, films that focus on going deeper in the emotions arising from the lockdown, telling the unfolding events from their own particular perspective.

Am Wochenende zwischen Freitag, 20. November und Sonntag, 22. November 2020 führt das Land Südtirol eine wichtige Initiative zur Bekämpfung der Ausbreitung der SARS CoV-2-Infektion durch: Test der gesamten ansässigen Bevölkerung, um eine Schätzung der vom Virus angesteckten Personen zu erhalten.
Koordiniert wird die landesweite Testung von der Agentur für Bevölkerungsschutz und dem Südtiroler Sanitätsbetrieb. Täglich stehen an die 1000 ÄrztInnen und KrankenpflegerInnen und an die 1500 MitarbeiterInnen im Einsatz. Insgesamt nehmen 362.050 BürgerInnen an der Aktion “Südtirol testet” teil.
Die Studierenden der ZeLIG dokumentieren diese Tage im Rahmen ihrer Ausbildung. In 8 Teams verwirklichen sie so 8 kurze Dokumentarfilme aus ihrer ganz persönlichen Sicht. Jeder dieser Filme erzählt einen besonderen Aspekt dieser wichtigen Initiative des öffentlichen Gesundheitssystems, welche der Bevölkerung Südtirols in Erinnerung bleiben wird.

Valentina hat von 2007 bis 2010 an der ZeLIG Regie studiert. Filmemachen war für Valentina eine wahre Berufung, eine große Leidenschaft. Sie war eine Kämpferin, die sich immer auch selbst ins Spiel gebracht hat. Das war die Stärke ihrer Filme. In Valentinas Filmen spürt man ihre Stimme, ihre Suche und leidenschaftliche Notwendigkeit, die Geschichte ihrer ProtagonistInnen zu erzählen.

Im April 2021 haben ZeLIG, Filmclub und BFFB eine Retrospektive der Filme von Valentina gestaltet. Die Retrospektive lief im Rahmen der Reihe “Non molliamo – Weiter gehts” und wurde ergänzt durch Gespräche, einer Masterclass und einem ausführlichen Interview mit Valentina, welches beim Biografilm Festival in Bologna im Juni 2020 geführt wurde.
Wir möchten mit den Gesprächen und den Filmen, die Valentina an der ZeLIG realisiert hat, einen Ort schaffen, um an Valentina zu erinnern.
