Renate Mumelter
Renate Mumelter

Chairman of the cooperative, Renate Mumelter (1954, Bolzano), Dr. phil, journalist (Deutsches Blatt im Alto Adige, press officer for the City of Bolzano, collaborations with Rai Südtirol, FF, Neue Südtiroler Tageszeitung, various magazines), and film critic. Retired since July 2016. Contributor to the Filmclub. Co-founder of the ZeLIG Film School. Together with Sabine Gruber, she manages the literary estate of Anita Pichler, with various publications and translations. Other works include Contro Corrente. Das Deutsche Blatt im Alto Adige (Klein, Mumelter, Pallaver), Cinema. Film in South Tyrol since 1945 (Raetia Verlag), Die Landesmutter. Waltraud Gebert Deeg (2021), and Sturzflüge. Emanuele Vernillo
Emanuele Vernillo

Tutor at ZeLIG’s three-year program since 2010 and Responsible of the same program since September 2025. He is also Vice-President of the cooperative. He has worked in both documentary and feature film productions, and has collaborated intensely with director Pietro Marcello. He engineered the live sound for the film “La Bocca del Lupo”; was assistant director for “'Il Silenzio di Pelesjan”; and was in charge of organisation for “'Bella e Perduta” – all award-winning films at top international film festivals, including Venice, Berlin, Toronto and Torino. He organises independent film series since many years, writes poetry and holds a B.A. and a Master in Anthropology of Development. Thomas Righetti
Thomas Righetti

After training in languages, he worked on various digital projects in visual communications. He came to ZeLIG in 2005 and since then has spearheaded the organisation of ZeLIG’s international initiatives. He coordinates ESoDoc – European Social Documentary, a workshop dedicated to developing documentary and crossmedia projects based on social themes. He’s also in charge of ZeLIG’s presence on social media, and other communication platforms. A passionate musician and photographer, he still dreams of becoming an astronaut. Nadia Caruso
Nadia Caruso

She’s been with ZeLIG since the early years. In charge of various administrative, financial and business aspects. She’s also involved in the executive production of students’ graduation films, as well as many other projects for ZeLIG, including ESoDoc – European Social Documentary. Veronica Rungger
Veronica Rungger

Veronica Rungger, who holds a Master's degree in French Studies with a focus on Film Studies, has been part of the ZeLIG Film School team since 2024. Drawn to a multilingual and film-focused environment, Veronica works as Project Coordinator to ensure the smooth running of the project ESoDoc – European Social Documentary. Paolo Vaccaro
Paolo Vaccaro

Erika Waldboth
Erika Waldboth

Con una formazione in ambito linguistico, ha lavorato per circa 25 anni nel settore non profit, in progetti locali e internazionali. Negli ultimi anni si è formata in marketing e comunicazione. Silvano Gazziero
Silvano Gazziero

Silvano Gazziero is an audio, video and multimedia applications expert, and has been with ZeLIG since 1998. He is involved with management of technical resources and technical aspects of production and didactic activities. Since 2010 he is technical tutor of ZeLIG’s three years training. Heidi Gronauer - ZeLIG Director 1990-2025
Heidi Gronauer - ZeLIG Director 1990-2025

Heidi Gronauer is passionate about film, theatre, dance, and music, and believes in the power of the arts to foster dialogue and inspire change.
She led ZeLIG Film School in Bolzano for more than 35 years, shaping it into an internationally recognised centre for documentary education. She founded and directed the European training programme ESoDoc – European Social Documentary (2004–2025) and was responsible for the Media-Mundus and international projects realised by ZeLIG in India and Africa (LINCT; ESoDoc INDIA; ESoDoc International).

In her early years, she was active in Berlin’s cultural scene, contributing to artistic initiatives and cross-city partnerships. She has worked in Italy since the mid-1980s, collaborating with Trento Cinema – International Encounters with Music for Cinema, and creating theatre series and cultural exchange projects between Germany and Italy, including Adventure in Europe – City of Berlin, Pirati Teatrali, and Teatrando… in lingua straniera.
She is co-founder of the Italian documentary association Doc/it and has co-directed the Italian Doc Screenings since 2014. She has served on numerous film juries and funding bodies, collaborates with the Trento Film Festival and many other festivals and networks worldwide, and is a member of the European Film Academy (EFA).
